LULAC’s Latino Flash Pitch Is A Fast Path To Success
Virtual Event Helps Our Community's Economic Advancement
Washington, DC – Don’t miss this week’s upcoming Latino Flash Pitch (LFP) created to foster connections, inspire learning, and create a community around Latinos who are ready for business and innovation. Latino entrepreneurs get a big break to be seen by pitching their startups and business ideas for what could be their biggest opportunity yet. This can lead to being included in a round of seed funding, and tap into the knowledge of experienced Latino entrepreneurs to do work that matters.
“Latino entrepreneurs are already changing every sector and industry globally even despite COVID-19,” say Alberto Vargas, Program Coordinator, and Randy Palacios, LULAC fellow. “Still, there is a large disparity between their contributions to the world and the available resources. LFP is a supportive community of people who care about making a difference in the world through entrepreneurship and innovation. We have startups from every sector and industries which we connect with mentors, fellow entrepreneurs plus funding,” they add.
The Latino Flash Pitch Conference is scheduled for Tuesday, August, 11th from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM and Wednesday, August 12th, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM
“Our world is changing as safe jobs, and conventional systems start to disappear even as the existing inequities are disproportionately affecting Latino entrepreneurs,” says Sindy Benavides, National Chief Executive Officer. “Problems are waiting to be solved uniquely by Latino experiences, leadership, skills, and resilience. The world needs them right now. They can lead us into uncharted territory, build something that they own, and provide value to the people they seek to serve. Unfortunately, what we have seen during this pandemic is a lack of access to capital, and already many Latino business owners have had to close their doors. As our purchasing power continues to grow, we want to make sure that Latinos are creating businesses and being selected as vendors, which helps bring diversity and equity to Fortune 1000 companies who desperately need them. Our strength is multiplied when we are all for one, and this program proves it!” she adds.
LULAC has created the Latino Flash Pitch as the model for how to identify, assist and mentor emerging entrepreneurs effectively and efficiently. It is doing so by leveraging its 91-year history of service and a proven track record of making a difference in Latino communities throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. You too, can be part of the fast track to success in business and economic empowerment. Join us for this historic virtual first of its kind LULAC event.
