Celebrating 88 Years of Service

As we celebrate LULAC’s 20th Annual Legislative Conference and Awards Gala, I am proud of the programs and services LULAC continues to make available to our community. To this date, we have over 1000 LULAC councils, 60 technology centers and 14 LNESC centers across the country that provide critical resources to the community.

LULAC’s grassroots membership continues to be a critical component of furthering the policy priorities of the Latino community at all government levels. By participating in the legislative advocacy days, LULAC members have the unique opportunity to discuss critical issues such as health care, education, immigration, and Puerto Rico’s status with policy makers.

This year, LULAC will again host the annual Emerge Latino Conference that will include the participation of over 150 college students chosen from across the country. The students will be visiting with Members of Congress and advocating for public policies important to their generation and to their families.

The National Legislative Conference and Awards Gala will recognize the contributions of leaders who have devoted their lives to public service. At this year’s awards gala, two lifetime service awards will be bestowed upon President George H.W. Bush and journalist Dan Rather. The National Trailblazer Award will be given to Tom Flores.

This year, we are proud to have Maria Elena Salinas, co-anchor of Noticiero Univision, as mistress of ceremonies for the Awards Gala.

Challenges remain, and we must continue our advocacy efforts in order to ensure prosperity for our community. Only by remaining committed to each other will we be able to continue to elevate our voices and advance the interests of all Latinos.

All for One and One for All.
