Partnerships reaching out to our International Partners to provide Technical Assistance

WHEREAS, the League of United Latin American Citizens is this nation’s oldest and largest Latino organization, founded in Corpus Christi, Texas on February 17, 1929; and

WHEREAS, LULAC throughout its history has committed itself to the principles that Latinos have equal access to opportunities in employment, education, housing and healthcare; and

WHEREAS, LULAC Councils #1088, #1091, and #1116 provide technical assistance reaching out to its international councils abroad. There is no cost to LULAC for this initiative; any costs would be covered by Council #1088; and

WHEREAS, the international LULAC Associate Councils have been created in Hermosillo, Sonora, Mexico; India, and in Africa; and

THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, we ask for the support of the assembly of the International partnerships in providing technical assistance to our LULAC Associate Councils abroad. Furthermore, we ask that USDOL consider restoring the farm labor housing funding to the Rocky Mountain States Region.

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, we request that this resolution be approved at the Arizona LULAC Convention and forwarded to the national LULAC convention to become a national legislative priority.
