Natalya Sonya Huallanca

Natalya Huallanca serves as a Research and Policy Fellow at LULAC's National Office in Washington, D.C., during the summer of 2026. Having grown up in Lawrenceville, Georgia, she is a rising junior in the University of Georgia Honors College, where she is majoring in International Affairs and Political Science on the pre-law track.

At UGA, Natalya serves as Vice President of the Caribbean Student Association, an Honors Ambassador, a member of the Honors Student Council, and a Dawg Camp Counselor, helping incoming students transition successfully to college. She was selected for the prestigious Honors in Washington Program and received both the Honors in Washington Scholarship and the Honors Domestic Experiential Learning Scholarship.

Her interest in public service and justice was shaped through an internship with Gwinnett Legal Aid as part of the Atlanta Bar Association's Summer Law Internship Program (SLIP). There, she worked alongside attorneys serving low-income clients in housing and family law matters, reinforcing her belief that access to justice should not depend on income.

At LULAC, Natalya supports research and policy initiatives focused on issues affecting Latino communities nationwide. She will continue her public service work this fall as a member of the 2026–2027 Spencer Frye Fellowship cohort in Athens, Georgia.

Natalya hopes to pursue a career in public service and government, with a particular interest in advancing policies that expand opportunity and strengthen Latino representation in civic and political life.
