Margaret Moran

Margaret Moran is a Former National President and her involvement in LULAC spans over three decades. She is the recipient of many recognition awards for her service in official elective roles at the local, state and national levels.

She currently serves on the national board of LNESC, the educational arm of LULAC. President Moran was instrumental in securing an LNESC Center in San Antonio with the assistance of corporate and local support. She also serves on the board of SER Jobs for Progress , Inc. is a lifetime member of the LULAC National Women’s Commission and is a member of the FBI Citizens Academy Alumni Association.

She served as Chairman of the HACR board of Directors, and is a former member of the American Bar Association- Commission on Hispanic Legal rights and Responsibilities.

In 2010, Her election to the Presidency of LULAC in Albuquerque, New Mexico was historical in that at no other time had there been a husband and wife elected as National President. President Oscar Moran was elected in Anaheim, California and served from 1985—1988.

A Dream of hers became a reality when in February, 2014, the First LULAC Emerge Latino Collegiate Conference was inaugurated in Washington, D.C. Her commitment to education, the elderly, youth and young adults has been and remains a priority.

The Moran’s are the parents of two children. Their three grandchildren are seventh generation Texans, whose ancestors were the early settlers in San Antonio, Bexar County in the early 1700’s.
