WELCOME

The LULAC National Women’s Conference takes place April 12th through April 13th, 2013, in San Juan, Puerto Rico. This Conference provides professional development workshops and seminars addressing the needs of Latinas and highlighting the contributions that Latinas have made to this country. This year’s conference will feature workshops on education, health and nutrition, employment, immigration, civil rights, domestic violence, women in business and the military, youth, young adults and faith-based communities. Past conference participants have raved about the opportunity to hear and learn how Latina leaders have triumphed over adversity and succeeded in fields that have excluded women for decades. Our corporate partners appreciate the opportunity to showcase their products and services and network with some of the top Latina talent in the nation.

The LULAC National Women’s Conference is a project of the LULAC National Commission for Women, whose mission is to raise the consciousness and build the capacity of Latinas of all ages. The commission enhances the opportunity for Latinas to become leaders and agents of change for the betterment of their communities and their families by improving their quality of life through education, economic development, political empowerment, leadership development, health care and women’s rights.

Latinas have made tremendous strides in holding positions of influence within American society. Our Commissioners feel great pride in serving LULAC and our nation but above all in being Latina. This year the National Commission for Women also hosts regional women’s conferences in Arizona, Florida, California and Illinois. In addition, the Commission will host the High Tea, Women’s Luncheon and the Women’s Empowerment Workshop at the 2013 LULAC National Convention taking place in Las Vegas, Nevada.
