Join LULAC Members to Host a Donation Event in your City

In response to the recent increase in child refugees, today, LULAC has made a toolkit available. It will provide instructions for how you can help. Click HERE to download your free toolkit to begin organizing in your community.

LULAC Members are encouraged to host food drive events in their neighborhoods. Held at Local feeding America Food banks, councils will organize events that provide critically needed items, pro bono legal advice, and health screenings as available. These events will take place in cities with a high concentration of relocated refugee children which include Houston, Texas; Los Angeles, California; New York City, New York: Miami, Florida; and the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, among others during the month of October.

Participating councils will receive a branded gear package, which provides shirts for organizers and volunteers, grocery bags to use for door-to-door food donation collections, and a banner to display during events. Councils that are currently active in protecting the border children are encouraged to reach out to the national office for material and promotions support by contacting Sindy Benavides, Director of Civic Engagement & Community Mobilization at SBenavides@LULAC.org or via phone at 202-833-6130 Ext. 108.
