Celina Stewart is a dedicated advocate for voting rights, legal strategist, and prominent civic leader with a career focused on empowering voters and defending democratic institutions. Drawing from a strong academic foundation with degrees from Spelman College and Western Michigan University Law School, Stewart’s lifelong commitment to advocacy began through pivotal roles as legal counsel to Stacey Abrams and executive director of the Congressional Black Caucus Institute’s 21st Century Council, leading to a distinguished practice focused on redistricting and civil rights compliance. A former Chief Operating Officer at FairVote and chief counsel for the League, she leveraged her legal expertise to architect the “People Powered Fair Maps™” campaign and secure national precedents against voter intimidation. Today, Celina continues to drive systemic change as the Chief Executive Officer of the League of Women Voters of the United States, bridging the gap between high-level litigation strategy and grassroots civic mobilization through the Unite and Rise 8.5 initiative.
