Rep. Delia Ramirez

Congresswoman Delia C. Ramirez is an accomplished legislator and community leader representing Illinois’s 3rd Congressional District, making history as the first Latina elected to Congress from the Midwest. She currently serves on the Committee on Homeland Security and the Committee for Veterans Affairs, where she is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. A daughter of Guatemalan immigrants and part of a mixed-status family, Representative Ramirez is a leading advocate for comprehensive immigration reform, housing as a human right, and climate justice. Her career is rooted in nearly two decades of non-profit leadership, including serving as Executive Director for the Center for Changing Lives and as a board chair for organizations like LUCHA. Before her election to Congress, she served in the Illinois General Assembly as an Assistant Majority Leader, where she secured significant funding for affordable housing and expanded healthcare access. She is a graduate of Northeastern Illinois University and resides in Chicago with her husband, Boris.
